Project Overview:

This project details the development of an interactive dashboard in Looker Studio, designed to provide comprehensive visibility into the performance and optimization opportunities for Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) across multi-tenant properties.

As a data analyst, I focused on transforming raw energy data into actionable insights, specifically addressing challenges related to understanding energy consumption trends, evaluating battery efficiency, quantifying tenant cost savings, and assessing integration reliability.

The resulting dashboard empowers cleantech startups to make data-driven decisions that enhance operational efficiency and contribute to their strategic goals.

The Challenge:

In the rapidly evolving landscape of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) for multi-tenant properties, a significant challenge arises from the sheer volume and fragmentation of operational data.

Without a centralized and intuitive system to analyze this information, stakeholders faced difficulties in effectively monitoring performance, identifying areas for efficiency improvement, and quantifying the actual benefits of DER implementation.

This lack of clear, actionable insights hindered proactive decision-making and obscured the tangible value proposition for potential investors.

Therefore, the primary objective of this project was to transform complex raw data into a clear, interactive dashboard that provides real-time visibility and empowers data-driven optimization strategies.

Data Collection & Preparation:

The foundational data for this project originated from a simulated DER_KPIs_Database, initially provided in an Excel (.xlsx) format. To ensure robust and real-time connectivity with Google Looker Studio, the dataset was subsequently converted to a native Google Sheet and securely stored within Google Drive.
